Traditional coaching often concentrates on the logical and analytical left brain. Somatic work, on the other hand, focuses on the right brain, utilizing the limbic system and neuroscience to access and reshape emotional patterns that may be hindering your progress.

You may be cognizant of the issue and the necessary steps to change it, yet find yourself unable to maintain lasting transformation. This difficulty arises because the neural pathways have not been effectively rewired; instead, you're merely covering up an existing pattern with a temporarily disrupted new one.

Somatic work, through a bottom-up approach, offers a fresh emotional learning experience. Imaginal techniques create new experiences, enabling you to:

• Understand what truly occurred, and
• Develop the ability to relate to and respond differently in similar situations.

Acupuncture practitioner, Dr. Alexandra Garcia (she/her) holds a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health Sciences, where she trained in the use of acupuncture and herbal medicine, and a Bachelors in Psychology from Middlebury College.

Alexandra completed a two-year mentorship program at NYU-Langone Brooklyn’s Labor and Delivery Department with Claudia Citkovitz, PhD, L.Ac and Tzivya Kraus, L.Ac and practiced at the YinOva Center in Manhattan, focusing on fertility and pregnancy care.

She loves the yin/yang theory of acupuncture, but she’s no stranger to the biomedical jargon your doctors use either. With a background in hospital practice, she’s happy to help you bridge that gap between lab reports and eastern energetics. Her practice focus is in supporting people on the conception journey (she gets hormones + cycles!), pregnant and postpartum folks, and anyone dealing with physical pain.
